Since I've been through this cycle with 2 previous apps (I didn't pay for them as well, but they followed the same pattern as AnyDesk), I saw no reason to pay for AnyDesk as well. My point is, you shouldn't have paid for the software, these things always happen at some point in time, once a remote desktop client starts getting popular, they raise prices of subscriptions and start cutting free features form the client. I see no reason to moan about the product, especially since I don't pay for it and I can change IDs whenever I like. I don't have that problem myself, I usually google for solutions to a problem (like how to generate a new ID since mine was marked as used for commercial use), plus I never paid for the software, so. I can understand how it might bother you to have zero customer support, especially since you paid a nifty sum for the license. Why would I pay when I can get the exact same thing for free 🤷. I use AnyDesk a large portion of the day as well, I just didn't pay for it 🤷. So much for a company that makes AnyDesk "with passion". Of course no answer to all of this when I contacted support. What the hell is going on? I've been a Splashtop user for over 6 months now, and, even if the application is worse than AnyDesk and the availability on Linux is as bad, at least it is much cheaper and lets you manage your devices. I cannot even switch the license to use it on other PCs, and all the other devices have this giant red banner saying "Free license" on top, which I cannot get rid of because, you know, I cannot log in from the application. On top of that, I hadn't been able to log into my account from the computer I use AnyDesk on, due to an "incorrect" credentials error, even if said credentials allow ,me to log into the website without any problems. When it does, I get an email saying "Your license has been extended for 1 year", but if I log on the website, it says "you have unpaid bills". So I just delete my card from Paypal and wait for the payment to fail. I get an e-mail confirmation that they are not renewing it, and I start looking for an alternative.įast forward 2 weeks, I get an email saying "Hey, your license is about to be renewed" which came, to my utter disbelief, from the same address that told me "we are not renewing it, sad to see you leave" 2 weeks prior.

So, of course, I decide to look for an alternative and just set my license to not renew automatically.
